Marisa Maher

Coach/Olympic Weightlifting Coordinator

Biography

Marisa has been a passionate athlete and competitor from young age. She never was the most athletic but believed that “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.” And that with the right work ethic, guidance, and opportunity she could do what others told her she couldn’t.

She played and started all four years of college basketball at York College and competed as a Team conference champion, and 4x400m relay Champion in Track & Field. She qualified in NCCAA nationals for the Javelin and Long Jump. She also competed in the Heptathlon and embodied good at many things but great at none which led to a passion for Crossfit.

She has always had the desire to positively inspire and impact others with some personal training experience, basketball and volleyball coaching teams of various ages, personal basketball lessons, and group speed and agility programs and camps of all the above.

She came to Homebase for the coaching opportunity, the vision Derek set forth for her, and how welcoming the members were. She hopes to encourage and empower EVERY level of athlete whether someone comes for weight loss, a higher quality of life, or to push their limits on the competition floor, or whatever combination or other goals that individual may have.
